CAF has opened an invitation to tender (ITT) for the Host Broadcast and TV Services across selected events in 2023, 2024 and 2025 including its flagship events, the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 and CAF Interclub Competitions.

The tender process will allow CAF to select the companies that are best placed to achieve CAF’s objectives of providing world-class coverage of the tournament and offering fans in Africa and internationally a high-quality viewing experience across a range of fields including Host Broadcast Production, Satellite distribution and Graphics.

CAF General Secretary, Véron Mosengo-Omba said: “CAF understands the importance of partnering with world class suppliers to achieve our goals. TV is very important in the strategic goals of CAF and the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire will give us an opportunity together with the new partners to deliver what we all believe will be the best AFCON in living memory.”

Interested parties may place bids on all the services included, or just specific services areas of expertise.

  • TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2023
  • TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2023
  • TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2024

According to Véron Mosengo-Omba, the Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the organization recognizes the importance of partnering with top-notch suppliers to achieve its strategic goals. Mosengo-Omba highlighted the significance of television in this regard, particularly in relation to the upcoming TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations to be held in Cote d’Ivoire. He expressed his optimism that the new partners would help deliver the best AFCON in recent memory.

The invitation to tender for broadcasting rights comes at a challenging time for CAF, which has been grappling with financial difficulties since its $1 billion contract with French agency Lagardere was terminated. As a result of this decision, CAF must pay $50 million in compensation to Lagardere, which has further strained the organization’s finances. While it’s believed that CAF has already paid $25 million, the compensation remains a significant financial burden.

Due to weather concerns in Ivory Coast during the summer months, CAF has decided to hold the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January next year, with Ivory Coast serving as the host country
