Momentum and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have announced an extension of their partnership to support women’s cricket. Momentum’s sponsorship will now include the Proteas Women and the SA Women’s U19 team. Although Momentum will no longer be the headline sponsor of the Proteas Women, they will continue to support women in sport through these two national cricket teams.
Momentum has been the headline sponsor of the national senior team since 2013, and during this partnership, the team has reached great heights, including two successive ICC 50-over World Cup semi-finals and a maiden ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final.
Pholetsi Moseki, CSA Chief Executive Officer, expressed his pleasure in the partnership and the progress made in women’s cricket. The extension comes at a time when the Proteas Women have made history by featuring in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, a feat that no other South African national cricket team has achieved.
Charlotte Nsubuga-Mukasa, head of Momentum Brand, said that Momentum is committed to bridging the gender pay gap in sport and is proud of the progress made by women’s cricket in South Africa. She encouraged every citizen, potential sponsor, and institution to support women’s sport and elevate their impact in the world of sport.
