ESPN Africa has announced that it has become the exclusive home of Top Rank Boxing across the African continent. This multiyear agreement expands the range of US and African sports currently offered by ESPN, bringing international boxing to viewers and showcasing some of the world’s most prominent fighters.
ESPN Africa’s first live broadcast of Top Rank Boxing will take place on March 25, 2023, at 03:00 (CAT), featuring a junior welterweight battle between Jose Ramirez and Richard Commey of Ghana. The co-feature will be a world title unification clash, featuring WBA minimum weight world champion Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada and WBC world champion Tina Rupprecht.
Top Rank has a long history of shaping, developing, and promoting the careers of international pay-per-view superstars and Hall of Famers, including Muhammad Ali, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and Oscar De La Hoya, among others. Top Rank has also been an innovator in the boxing industry, creating strategic collaborations between athletes, sponsors, and television networks and staging high-profile events in landmark settings worldwide.
ESPN Africa’s coverage of Top Rank Boxing will include live broadcasts of the fights, pre-fight and post-fight analysis, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content. Audiences across Africa will have access to the broadcasts, allowing them to enjoy the exciting action live from the Top Rank Boxing events.
