It’s deadline day for any bidders wanting a stake in Chelsea and a John Terry led consortium have emerged as interested parties in the sale. According to Goal, Terry and former women’s football star Claire Rafferty are fronting up a £250 million ($329m) consortium called True Blue in an attempt to buy a 10 percent stake in the club. The consortium would not be able to go into a club purchasing agreement on their own as John Terry is said to have a net worth roughly £51million and they would be seeking to go into a deal with some of the bigger consortiums to entrench true Chelsea fans into the heart of decisions being made at the club.

Terry is Chelsea’s most successful captain. During his 19 years with the club, he led the Blues to five Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one Europa League and that infamous Champions League title. He is one of five players to have made over 500 appearances for Chelsea and is also the club’s all-time highest scoring defender. In his final season at Chelsea in 2017, he became the first ever player to captain a team to the Premier League title on five occasions.
