Nyiko Shiburi, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa, will be stepping down from his role after a three-year tenure to head up the company’s newly created technology division. Marc Jury, currently the CEO of SuperSport, will take over as the new MultiChoice SA CEO. Rendani Ramovha, currently the head of marketing and commercial for SuperSport, has been appointed as the CEO-designate for SuperSport and will assume the position in April 2024. Teix Texeira will serve as the interim CEO of SuperSport for a year.

According to MultiChoice, they are consolidating their broadcast technology division, enterprise business systems, group digital, DStv streaming technology, and project management office under one division. The company aims to position their technology area as the leading growth phase and the preferred technology platform for African households. MultiChoice Group CEO Calvo Mawela believes Shiburi’s extensive experience in the technology space makes him the ideal candidate to lead this new division.

Ramovha joined MultiChoice as a Sports Marketing Manager in 2019. Prior to this, he worked for Diageo, where he was responsible for distributing Diageo brands in Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Namibia. He gradually climbed the ranks at MultiChoice, serving as the Acting Head of Marketing and the Senior Commercial Manager before becoming the Head of Commercial and Marketing. Despite being relatively new to the position, SuperSport’s Senior Commercial Manager has already taken on some exciting projects, such as the SuperSport Schools initiative and the company’s stake in betting platform BetKing.
